Over 400 people gathered to raise a glass, or two, to celebrate excellence in Massachusetts politics on December 3rd, 2015 at the first annual ElKey Awards. It was a festive and fantastic night of camaraderie, laughs, and memories at the Omni Parker House Rooftop Ballroom. Winners from both sides of the aisle reveled in their victories and we honored Attorney General Frank Bellotti and the late Governor Paul Cellucci with the Legacy Award. The exceptional Shattering the Glass Ceiling Award was given to Attorney General Maura Healey, State Auditor Suzanne Bump, State Treasurer Deb Goldberg and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito. Massachusetts remains the only state to have four of its top six constitutional offices held by women! Special thanks to Andy Hiller, WHDH Channel 7 political reporter, for graciously stepping in and serving as our emcee.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the voting process and attended the event. We hope to do it again next year in 2016!
Thank you to our event chairs, Republican State Chair Kirsten Hughes and Democratic State Chair Tom McGee, the Host Committee, and our sponsors. Proceeds benefited the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.
